WASHINGTON, DC – Today, just after Greek Independence Day, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12), Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues, Congressman Gus Bilirakis (FL-12), Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues, and Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) introduced a resolution calling on Great Britain to return the Parthenon Marbles to Greece.

Maloney, Espaillat Call on Cuomo to Fight Homelessness

A dozen representatives from New York’s Congressional Delegation – among them Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Upper East Side) and Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-Washington Heights, Sugar Hill) – wrote a letter to Governor Andrew Cuomo(D), beckoning him to include an anti-homelessness program in the budget.

The letter, submitted on Mar. 14, calls for the inclusion of Home Stability Support (HSS), a program that provides financial support to New Yorkers threatened with eviction or homelessness.

Rep. Maloney, Federal Officials, and Representatives from New York Counts 2020 Call NY State to Increase Funding for 2020 Census Outreach

Today Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) joined federal officials, representatives from New York Counts 2020 and Census advocates to call for an additional $40 million in New York State funding for increased Census outreach in order to ensure that all New Yorkers respond to the Census. There are few issues that are more important to the well-being of New York State than the upcoming 2020 Census. Census data is used to determine more than $70 billion in federal funding for New York.

Rep. Maloney Brings Together Elected Officials, Religious and Community Leaders to Condemn Rising Anti-Semitism

NEW YORK, NY ​​ — Today, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12), author of the Never Again Education Act, organized a group of elected officials, along with religious and community leaders, to join together outside of Asphalt Green’s Upper East Side Campus to condemn anti-Semitism in New York City and across the country.

Last week, Asphalt Green was defaced with swastikas. This incident is part of an alarming spike in anti-Semitic attacks, hate crimes, and rhetoric throughout New York City and our nation.

City leaders denounce hate after New Zealand mosque shootings

Elected officials and supporters gathered on the Upper East Side on Sunday to denounce hate in the wake of the mosque shootings in New Zealand and anti-Semitic graffiti recently sprayed at a recreation center in the city. 

A boisterous crowd of more than 100 people gathered to listen to the group, which included Rep. Carolyn Maloney, and one theme reigned: Hate in all forms must be stopped.
