Rep. Maloney Receives AARP’s Legislative Achievement Award

New York, NY – This week, AARP honored Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan, Queens) with the organization’s 2009 Legislative Achievement Award for Maloney’s efforts to protect consumers in the current Congress. The CARD Act, which Maloney authored in the House to prohibit the worst abuses by the credit card industry, was signed into law by President Obama last summer.

Maloney women’s health provisions included in health care reform package

WASHINGTON, DC – Health care reforms signed by the President today include longtime legislative proposals of Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY). Her bill to create Women’s Health Offices in five Federal agencies and provisions to protect working mothers who are breastfeeding their infants and need breaks to express milk during the workday were both included in the reforms.
