NEW YORK – Today, after learning that the US Navy selected Camden, New Jersey over Bayonne, New Jersey, as the permanent location for the soon-to-be battleship museum USS New Jersey, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan, Queens), a long time friend and advocate of the USS Intrepid museum, released the following statement:

"The Navy has made a sensible decision that will ensure the viability of two important US military museums, the USS New Jersey and the USS Intrepid. The Navy's action will allow more citizens to visit these important and historic museums and learn about our country's military past. This decision is in the best interest of the citizens of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and underscores the position of the USS Intrepid as the premier sea-air-space museum in the country."
