Rep. Maloney Urges State Department to Continue Bringing Home Americans Stranded Abroad
NEW YORK, NY- Following ten of her constituents being brought home after being stranded in Morocco due to COVID-19, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) issued the following statement praising the State Department’s action and urging the continued work to bring home every American stranded abroad due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I am incredibly thankful for the Department of State and United States Embassy’s actions to assist American citizens, including ten of my constituents, in getting back home during the COVID-19 outbreak. Closed borders, movement restrictions, cancelled flights, and mandatory quarantines due to coronavirus have severely hindered travel and left many Americans stranded outside of the United States. I urge Secretary Pompeo to continue this work and implement immediate, comprehensive action to ensure every American abroad who wants to return to the United States can safely do so. I encourage all NY-12 constituents facing difficulty traveling back to the United States to contact my staff and email urgentNY12@mail.house.gov for assistance.”
On March 20th, Rep. Maloney signed onto Rep. Joe Neguse’s letter to Secretary Pompeo calling for immediate action to help Americans abroad. Full letter and release here.
