WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY-12) released the following statement after receiving her full slate committee appointments for the 116th Congress:

“I am honored that my colleagues have entrusted me with these important committee assignments. I am especially proud to be the Vice Chair and top Democrat on the Joint Economic Committee and the Chair of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets. With a Democratic majority in the House, we have a real opportunity to restore accountability to government and advance an agenda that protects the rights of, and expands opportunity for, all Americans. We must take advantage of this moment in history and I intend to use these Committee assignments to ensure that we do.”

Congresswoman Maloney’s Committee Assignments for the 116th Congress are:

  • Vice Chair, The Joint Economic Committee (JEC) 
    • The JEC is a committee comprised of both House Members and Senators who are tasked with informing Congress’ actions on economic issues, including on economic inequality, the gender pay gap, wages, the cost of climate change, and economic challenges facing Americans including prescription drug prices and student loans.
  • House Committee on Financial Services
    • Chair of the Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship, and Capital Markets
    • Member of the Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance
  • House Committee on Oversight and Reform
    • Member of the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties
