Rep. Maloney Receives Award from the Association of American Residents Overseas
Washington, DC – This week, the Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO) honored Rep. Carolyn Maloney (NY-12) with an award celebrating her work on behalf of more than 6.32 million Americans living abroad. The AARO delegation visited Washington, D.C. for a round of meetings with Members of Congress and staff, advocating on a variety of issues its members grapple with overseas.
Inscribed on the award is a message that reads, “In Gratitude For Her Unfailing Support For the Rights of Americans Living and Working Overseas.”
The AARO delegation consisted of AARO President Lucy Laedrich, Vice President Ellen Labelle, representatives from the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas, and American Citizens Abroad.
Congresswoman Maloney has been a staunch supporter for Americans living overseas, having founded the Americans Abroad Caucus and advocating for uniformed absentee voting procedures and access to banking services.
