Press Release

Marking the sixth anniversary of Dodd-Frank, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12), member of the Dodd-Frank conference committee, senior member of the House Financial Services Committee and Ranking Member of the Joint Economic Committee, released the following statement.

“Six years after Dodd-Frank was signed into law, the evidence is clear: this landmark financial reform is working. Our financial system is now safer, consumers have an effective and dedicated watchdog in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and investors enjoy significantly enhanced protections that have made our markets fairer, more transparent and more robust.

“Looking forward to the next six years, and the six after that, we recognize that there is still more work to be done. However, in the meantime, Congress must ensure that U.S. financial regulators have the resources necessary to finish implementing this critical law that has already made a significant impact in bettering our financial system.”
