Rep. Maloney Joins Local Leaders for Opening of Under the K-Bridge Park
New York, NY – Today, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) joined local leaders for the opening of the Under the K-Bridge Park. Congresswoman Maloney secured $670 million in federal funding to construct the new Kosciusko Bridge and to construct this much-needed green space in an area of Brooklyn with a long history of industrial pollution.
“I’m thrilled to finally see the Under the K-Bridge Park completed and open to the public. I fought for and brought home a majority of the funding used to build the new Kosciusko Bridge and maintain this important roadway between Queens and Brooklyn. This park is the next step in expanding all that the K-Bridge has to offer to our community and has opened at a time when New Yorkers value green and open spaces more than ever after the grueling 14 months of the COVID-19 crisis. A new park is essential for the rebuilding of our great city, and I commend New York State, the State Department of Transportation, and North Brooklyn Parks Alliance for making it happen.”
