Over 12,000 Constituents Participated in the Event

NEW YORK, NY- On Sunday April 19th, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) hosted a COVID-19 Telephone Town Hall with special guests Dr. Michael Niederman, Pulmonologist at Weill Cornell Medicine, and Legal Services NYC Senior Staff Attorney Nicole Salk. The event focused on COVID-19 relief packages, medical updates, resources for unemployed New Yorkers, and the actions the Congresswoman has taken to help her constituents navigate this crisis.

Dr. Michael Niederman, Weill Cornell Pulmonologist, discussed antibody testing, COVID-19 symptoms and medical guidelines, and the importance of social distancing.

 

Nicole Salk, Senior Staff Attorney at Legal Services NYC, discussed the unemployment benefits included in the CARES Act and guidance for New Yorkers having trouble filing for unemployment benefits through the New York State Department of Labor.
