Maloney Statement on SCOTUS Workplace Arbitration Contracts Decision
NEW YORK, NY – Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY) released the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled against employees in a workplace arbitration contracts case.
“You shouldn’t have to sign your rights away when you take a new job, but that is exactly what this Supreme Court ruling does by stripping employees of their right to join together to take legal action against their employer. This leaves every worker standing alone, fighting uphill legal battles against companies that hold all the cards. They will become more vulnerable and will suffer as a result of this decision.”
