Congresswoman Maloney Celebrates National Night Out Against Crime
NEW YORK—On Tuesday, August 1, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) joined her constituents at NYPD Precincts 13, 17, and 19 in Manhattan to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime, a nation-wide community event to take a stand against crime. Residents had the opportunity to meet members of their local precinct, interact with neighbors and community and local business leaders, and receive information on ways to get involved with the NYPD.
“Night Out Against Crime is an effective, affordable, and fun program that promotes crime prevention, strengthens community police partnerships, and fosters neighborhood togetherness,” said Congresswoman Maloney. “It is always an honor and a joy to take part in this wonderful event. Tonight is a night to celebrate safety. Thanks to the hard work of the New York City Police Department our City is safer than it’s ever been. I want to pay tribute to the achievements of the police who put their lives on the line for us every day. They are not only New York City's Finest, I think they're America's Finest.”
