Dear Friend,

This week was a good week. The President finally abandoned his racist, illegal attempt to rig the census, the House passed my Federal Employee Paid Leave Act, and we passed, by an overwhelming vote of 402-12, the Never Forget the Heroes Act to make permanent and fully fund the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.

Dear Friend, I hope you had a good week – I know I had a busy one with some key wins in Washington, DC – in Congress and at the Supreme Court. I’m thrilled to share good news on our fights to fully fund and make permanent the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund and to ensure a full, fair, and accurate 2020 Census. This week, I also gathered with my colleagues to celebrate growing bipartisan support for a Smithsonian Women’s History Museum, the House passed the SAFE Act – a bill to better secure our elections against foreign interference, and I offered my Federal Employee Paid Leave Act as an amendment to the NDAA. More on all this below.

Dear Friend, It was another busy week back home in NYC and in Washington, DC. I kicked off last weekend with many of you at the #ImpeachTrump Day of Action in Foley Square, had the chance to speak with some of you and Patient Advocate Peter Morley about healthcare in Long Island City, and then it was back to DC to introduce legislation to help nonprofits and vote for a spending package that will finally fund gun violence research. More on all this below.

Dear Friend, It was another busy week in Washington, DC and here in New York. I’m proud to report we had two big wins in the House of Representatives this week. We sent a disaster relief package to the President’s desk for his signature and we passed the American Dream and Promise Act to finally give Dreamers and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders a real pathway to citizenship. More on this and other updates below.

Dear Friend, We just had a historic moment on the floor of the House. I joined 235 of my colleagues to pass the Equality Act, sweeping new civil rights legislation that will prohibit discrimination against LGBTQ Americans in all walks of life. I have fought for equality for my entire career and this is one of the proudest moments of my career in public service. Below is more information about the Equality Act’s historic reforms.
