Dear Friend, This was a busy week for NY! Whether it was Governor Cuomo signing the Child Victim Act into law or New York City Council Members protesting the Public Charge rule, I’m glad representatives from our City always defend justice and fight back against the discriminatory policies proposed by the Trump Administration. At a time when hate is festering throughout our nation, it is crucial that we continue to defend the American values of freedom and acceptance. I’m proud to represent NY and to keep fighting for the constituents of NY-12.

Dear Friend,

As a nation, we are all still processing and grieving the tragic mass shootings that occurred over the weekend, as well as the latest of Trump’s cruel immigration policies. This week, I spent time with community leaders and spoke with many of you about what can be done in Washington to make our communities safer.

Dear Friend,

This week was a good week. The President finally abandoned his racist, illegal attempt to rig the census, the House passed my Federal Employee Paid Leave Act, and we passed, by an overwhelming vote of 402-12, the Never Forget the Heroes Act to make permanent and fully fund the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.

Dear Friend, I hope you had a good week – I know I had a busy one with some key wins in Washington, DC – in Congress and at the Supreme Court. I’m thrilled to share good news on our fights to fully fund and make permanent the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund and to ensure a full, fair, and accurate 2020 Census. This week, I also gathered with my colleagues to celebrate growing bipartisan support for a Smithsonian Women’s History Museum, the House passed the SAFE Act – a bill to better secure our elections against foreign interference, and I offered my Federal Employee Paid Leave Act as an amendment to the NDAA. More on all this below.

Dear Friend, It was another busy week back home in NYC and in Washington, DC. I kicked off last weekend with many of you at the #ImpeachTrump Day of Action in Foley Square, had the chance to speak with some of you and Patient Advocate Peter Morley about healthcare in Long Island City, and then it was back to DC to introduce legislation to help nonprofits and vote for a spending package that will finally fund gun violence research. More on all this below.
