Dear Friend,

As our city, state, and country continue to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, I write today to update you and your loved ones with the most important information during this ever-changing pandemic landscape.

Last week, New York State launched Excelsior Pass Plus to help expand travel and commerce opportunities for New Yorkers. Excelsior Pass Plus users can securely upload their verified COVID-19 vaccination credentials and travel through American Airlines to Greece, France, Spain, Italy, and the Bahamas, and on indirect flights to El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, and Puerto Rico! Additionally, last Friday President Biden extended the pause on student loan repayment until January 2022.

Getting Your Vaccine

Vaccine Walk-Up & Appointment Information

All New York State run mass vaccination sites are open to New Yorkers aged 16 years and older for walk-up vaccinations on a first come first serve basis. These walk-up appointments are reserved for first doses, with second doses to be scheduled automatically after administration of the initial shot. Vaccine providers are also encouraged to allow walk-in appointments.

You can find New York State run sites here or use the NYC Vaccine Finder to find a vaccination location and make an appointment.

You can also make an appointment via phone by calling 1-833-NYS-4-VAX for state run sites or 1-877-VAX-4NYC for city run sites.

Vaccinations at Home

New York City is offering in-home COVID-19 vaccinations to any city resident who requests one. Any New Yorker requesting in-home vaccination will now have the option to request their vaccine brand preference (Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson).

If you are interested in this option, you can fill out an interest form here

The form does not set up an appointment, but allows you to be contacted for further discussion. Read more

NYC Mobile & Pop-Up Vaccine Sites

To better meet New Yorkers' needs, NYC has deployed temporary, roaming vaccination sites across the City. There are two versions of these temporary sites: mobile and pop-up. Appointments are not required, but you can book an appointment at many of these sites in advance online or by calling 877-VAX-4NYC.

National Updates

President Biden and his administration continue to take steps to combat the health and economic crises caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This week, that includes supporting Secretary of Defense Austin's plan to add the COVID vaccine to the list of required vaccinations for U.S. service members by mid-September, extending the pause on student loan repayment through January 2022, and encouraging business, university, and healthcare leaders to adopt COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

New York State Updates
