Gun Safety Discussion on March 28
This coming Wednesday, March 28 at 3:30pm I am hosting listening session at Eleanor Roosevelt High School on gun safety and gun violence prevention. Since February 14, when 17 innocent lives were taken in Parkland, FL, students all over the country have made their voices heard; on social media, in the news, and last week, by walking out of class. After this weekend’s March for Our Lives I wanted to create a space in which NY 12’s students could voice their concerns directly to me.
Gun violence prevention advocates and public safety professionals will also join in our discussion about your concerns, ideas, and how each and every one of us can get involved in the fight for gun safety.
Tickets are free and required for entry. You can register for the event on Eventbrite here. There will also be a standby line for those who were unable to reserve a spot.
I hope to see you there.
