Carolyn Maloney (NY), former ranking member of the House Census Subcommittee, released the following statement today in response to a press report that the Census Bureau assisted the Department of Homeland Security in preparing tabulations of the location by zip code of concentrations of Arab Americans:
WASHINGTON, DC - To help ensure the 9/11 Commission’s recommendations are implemented as soon as possible, Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Christopher Shays (R-CT) will introduce legislation to extend the Commission until it deems most of its recommendations have been enacted into law.

Chris Shays (R-CT) and Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), today called on Congressional leaders to begin hearings on the 9/11 Commission report this year, before the 9/11 anniversary. These ten provisions directly relate to abuses under Republican control of the U.S. Congress that have shut down open debate in Washington and prevented accurate representation of the American people.
