WASHINGTON, DC - Concerned about the 380 tons of powerful explosives stolen from Iraq on the United States’s watch, the Chair of the House Democratic Task Force on Homeland Security is seeking answers about the use of the explosives after they were stolen. Rep. Carolyn Maloney (NY-14) has requested a Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigation into whether these explosives from the al Qaqaa facility were then used in attacks on American soldiers in Iraq or in terrorist attacks earlier this year in Madrid and the Sinai Peninsula.
