Ironically, three years earlier, then-Majority Leader Dick Armey scuttled a provision in Congress that helped disaster-stricken communities recoup much of their lost tax revenue.

WASHINGTON, DC - Members of Congress are pushing for continued federal investment in educational opportunities for women. Rep. Carolyn Maloney (NY-14) and 23 colleagues are urging the House Appropriations Committee to follow the Senate’s lead by awarding $3,000,000 in funding for the Women’s Educational Equality Act (WEEA) – which provides practical resources such as training and materials to enable women to succeed in the educational system.
