Through out my time in Congress, I have been an advocate for national energy policies that increase energy independence, protect our environment, and use our natural resources responsibly. Development of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures are critical to meeting those goals. I will continue work with my colleagues on important initiatives including tax incentives for alternative energy, weatherization programs, and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
In the 111th Congress, I am proud to support the historic American Clean Energy and Security (ACES) Act of 2009, which would
revolutionize American energy policy, combat climate change, and
provide a unique opportunity to revive our economy and create millions
of clean energy jobs.
